The
Licensed Jewellery Collection for The Mary Rose Trust Jewellery inspired by
the graceful lines of the Mary Rose hull.
The Mary Rose, the most beautiful of ships and Henry VIII's
flagship,
sank in Portsmouth, England, after an attack by the French
in 1545.
In 1982, the ship was recovered with over 25,000 historical
treasures.
Her contents provide a fascinating insight into Tudor
maritime life in the 16th century.
A study of the crew showed that they were a group of young,
robust men who ate fairly well,
dressed reasonably and entertained themselves with music,
books and games in their leisure time.
